Get Off My Cloud

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards wrote "Get Off of My Cloud" as a single to follow "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" which had been extremely successful  Richards commented: "'Get Off of My Cloud' was basically a response to people knocking on our door asking us for the follow-up to 'Satisfaction'.  Recorded in Hollywood, CA in early September 1965, the song topped the charts in the US, UK, Canada, and Germany

Start Me Up

"Start Me Up" was initially a reggae song recorded in March 1975 for the Rolling Stones' album Black and Blue.  It was abandoned but later re-recorded during January and March 1978 for the Some Girls album.    The infectious "thump" to the original was achieved using mixer Bob Clearmountain's famed "bathroom reverb", a process involving the recording of some of the song's vocal and drum tracks with a miked speaker in the bathroom of the Power Station recording studio in New York City!
